Abstract

Pandemic Covid-19 pada era disrupsi teknologi komunikasi dan informasi digital menjadi kondisi yang melahirkan praktek ritual “baru” dalam Gereja Katolik, yakni perayaan ekaristi atau misa online. Misa dirayakan di gereja-gereja lalu disiarkan secara langsung melalui media sosial, seperti Facebook dan Youtube. Sementara itu, umat mengikutinya dari tempatnya berada, entah dari rumah atau tempat lainnya. Hal ini melahirkan suatu pengalaman religious “baru”, yakni pengalaman akan kehadiran Allah yang semakin cair, tidak murni, campuran, sinkretik, penuh degradasi, terkikis, ambigu, ambivalen dan kabur oleh budaya masyarakat konsumen dan budaya media.
